OGA Receives GHIN Customer Service Award

Far Hills, NJ -- The Oregon Golf Association (OGA) was awarded the 2008 GHIN® (Golf Handicap Information Network) Service Award at the conclusion of the GHIN Users annual meeting in October. The annual award is presented to a golf association based on club survey and feedback, along with input from the GHIN staff.

"This award represents the highest level of successful service to member clubs and a commitment to excellence," said Kevin O'Connor, the Senior Director of Handicapping for the United States Golf Association.  Receiving the award on behalf of the OGA was Kelly Neely, the association's Senior Director of Handicapping & Course Rating.

"If a similar award for excellence relating to Handicap System education existed,” added O’Connor, "Kelly and the Oregon Golf Association would have earned that award more than 10 years ago."

“Customer service has always been a top priority of mine,” noted Neely.  Our Member Clubs, Handicap Chairs and all our golfers need to know that the OGA is their go-to source for answers when it comes to a question about the game of golf, whether it’s the Rules of Golf or the Rules of Handicapping, Tournaments, Course Rating, or other related subjects.”

“While this award highlights the focus toward customer service that our organization promotes as a whole,” noted OGA Chief Executive Barb Trammell, “we’re especially proud of the recognition that Kelly has received for her leadership role during her tenure at the OGA, as well as the recognition that she and our entire staff has earned throughout the country.”

GHIN® is the Handicap computation service the OGA provides to its Member Clubs so that their members can obtain a USGA Handicap Index.  GHIN services are the most extensive in the industry.  In addition to its PC-based Handicap Posting terminal software, GHIN also provides TPP® (Tournament Pairing Program), eClubhouse (a free website for registering and communicating with members) and GHINClub.net (for club administrators to access and manage their member rosters remotely).

Neely added, “we are the first line of support when questions arise about software and the managing of club and member information.  Our Member Clubs, Handicap Chairs and all of our golfers need to know that the OGA is here to help them.  We know we provide a level of service that cannot be found at other computation services.”

GHIN is the world's largest handicap computation service and serves 68 State, Regional and National Golf Associations representing more than two million golfers and 10,000 clubs. GHIN is maintained by the United States Golf Association and the staff is composed of USGA employees.
