Oregon Junior Golf Team Events

Each year Oregon Junior Golf fields four teams of our best players to compete in international team championships. Selection is based on the team selection criterion as explained in the Oregon Junior Golf Performance Points Schedule.  Designated team point events are listed below and indicated by an * on the Oregon Junior Golf Performance Points Schedule.

Pacific Ladies Junior Team Matches
The Pacific Ladies Junior Team Matches features six girls from Oregon and Washington and twelve girls from British Columbia. The Oregon and Washington players compete as “Team USA” in a Ryder cup format against British Columbia. The competition is held over Memorial Day weekend (May 28 – 29). Oregon Junior Golf Fund, Inc. provides housing and meals for our Oregon girls. Team Captain Bobbi Breslin provides transportation to the matches.

Boys' and Girls' Junior Americas Cup Team Matches
In 2011, the Girls Junior Americas Cup Matches will be hosted by the Northern Nevada Junior Golf Association and will be contested at Genoa Lakes Golf Club, July 25-28, in Reno, Nevada.
The Boys Junior Americas Cup Team Matches will be hosted by the Colorado Junior Golf Association and will be contested at Hiwan Golf Club, July 26-29, in Evergreen, Colorado,

The Junior Americas Cup teams are comprised of elite international junior golfers from the western United States, Canada and Mexico. Seventeen associations participate in the competition. The team format is 54- hole stroke play with the low three of four scores per day tallied to determine the team total.

Oregon Junior Golf Fund, Inc. covers the traveling costs for the Oregon players and NIKE provides the team uniforms. Team members are housed in private homes.

Eddie Hogan Cup Team Matches
The 43rd Eddie Hogan Cup Team Matches will be held August 12-14 at Riverside Golf and Country Club. As the host association, Oregon fields two 4-man teams and invites eight western junior associations plus Hawaii and British Columbia.

Visiting team members are housed in private homes. Tiger Woods, Fred Couples, Ricky Fowler, Rickie Barnes and many other touring professionals have competed at the Eddie Hogan Cup Team Matches.

The competition format is 36-hole stroke play with the low three of four scores per day being tallied to determine the team total.

Logan Cup Matches
In 2012, Oregon Junior Golf hopes to add an additional team event for Girls in Logan, Utah to be contested in mid-August, about the same time as the Hogan Cup.  We will provide additional details of this event in early 2012!

Oregon Women's Stroke Play Championship	August 6 - 7	Emerald Valley GC, Corvallis, Ore.
Oregon Men's Stroke Play Championship	August 12 - 14	Emerald Valley GC, Creswell, Ore.

Team points are used to determine those Boys and Girls who will represent the state assocaition in team competitions including the North Pacific Junior Ladies Cup Team Matches, the Boys Junior Americas Cup, the Girls Junior Americas Cup and the Eddie Hogan Cup Team Matches.

Eligible events for the North Pacific Ladies Cup Team Matches include all 2010 Team Points Events.  Eligible events for the Boys’ and Girls’ Junior Americas Cup and the Hogan Cup include all 2011 Team Points Events completed prior to the selection of the respective teams.
