Notice To Players - 102nd Oregon Amateur

(This information supplements the Local Rules and Conditions of Competition for OGA Championships and Events.)

102ND OREGON AMATEUR – WAVERLEY COUNTRY CLUB – STROKE PLAY QUALIFYING
MONDAY, JUNE 20 – TUESDAY, JUNE 21, 2011

1)    WAVERLEY COUNTRY CLUB – please disregard all existing Local Rules, including those on the Waverley Country Club scorecard.

2)    THE TEEING GROUND – Women will play from the WHITE tee markers and men will play from the GREEN tee markers.

3)    ONE BALL CONDITION – IS in effect as prescribed by Appendix I (page 118 in the Rules of Golf).

4)    OUT OF BOUNDS – Is defined by white stakes and perimeter fencing.  Where white stakes are not present (i.e. behind the #9 green) out of bounds is defined by the inside edge of all cement and asphalt excluding the cart path left of the # 9 putting green.

a)    OUT OF BOUNDS (OLD) MAINTENANCE AREA  – The maintenance area left of #10 putting green, right of #18 tee and continuing right of #11 tee is considered out of bounds, the white stakes define out of bounds except directly left of the #10 green where the course side of the maintenance barn wall at ground level defines out of bounds.
b)    OUT OF BOUNDS (NEW) MAINTENANCE AREA  – The maintenance area left of #13 tee and right of the putting green of #15 is considered out of bounds, the white stakes define out of bounds.

5)    BALL STRIKING OVERHEAD POWER LINES  – The Local Rule is not in effect – play the ball as it lies

6)    FLAGPOLE AND HEDGE RIGHT OF #9 PUTTING GREEN  – This area is defined as ground under repair, play prohibited.  If you have interference you must take relief per Rule 25-1.  The area is defined by the edge of the grass surrounding the bark.

7)    DROPPING ZONES – The OGA has established two dropping zones on Hole #10
a)    Located left of the #10 putting green, DZ 1 & DZ 2.  If a ball comes to rest on the cart path behind or to the left of the #10 putting green, in addition to the options available under Rule 24-2b, the player may take relief, without penalty, in the nearest dropping zone.

8)    OBSTRUCTIONS – THE following areas are considered obstructions
a)    Artificially surfaced roads and their extensions;
b)    Sprinkler heads and sprinkler control boxes;
c)    All manmade structures, drinking fountains, restrooms, dwellings;
d)    The stairs left of the putting green of #15 leading up to the tee of #16;

9)    PLAY-OFF – If necessary, a hole by hole play-off for medalist and the final qualifying spots in both fields will begin as soon as all scorecards have been returned and approved by the committee.

10)    THE COMMITTEE – Jim Gibbons, John Wells, Peter Pittock, Rusty Beckel, Dal Norris, Brent Whittaker, Nate Swanner & Barb Trammell.
