OGA Tour Championship
The OGA Tour Championship is fast approaching and we wanted to provide you with further details on how invitations are earned to this inaugural event as well as provide you with preliminary invitee lists (subject to change).
The OGA Tour Championship, which will take place Sat. Oct. 23 at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, will consist of 27 players representing the Individual Series, 21 players from the Senior Series and 24 players (12 Teams) from the Partner Series.
Firstly, as we’ve communicated throughout the summer, you must be an OGA member and have participated in a minimum of two (2) OGA Tour events to be eligible to earn an invitation (note: players may register for the OGA Tour Casual Day at Riverside G&CC to meet this requirement).
Secondly, in order to ensure the field represents golfers of all skill level (fulfilling the objectives and spirit of the OGA Tour), it is possible that some players may be overlooked in favor of a player of different skill farther down the points list should there be an large grouping of players of similar skill near the top.
Links to tentative invite lists are included below for each series and are based on both a players current Handicap Index and points accrued as of September 1, 2010 and are subject to change. Official Invitations will be determined on September 27 based on the results of the final event in each series and the September 22 handicap revision.
Those earning an invitation in more than one series must choose which Series they will compete in at the Tour Championship. Players not on the initial invite list will be placed on a waiting list to be filled as spots may become available.
What does the invitation include?
Invitees will receive one nights lodging for two (bring a guest of your choice for no additional fee) as well as the following at OGA Tour Championship:
Friday October 22
• Complimentary afternoon round on Bandon Dunes, Pacific Dunes or Old MacDonald
• Pairings party Friday evening with drink tickets provided
Saturday, October 23
• Breakfast buffet Saturday morning prior to the Championship Round
• Tee prize package including limited edition poster, bag tag and ball mark
• Championship Round on Bandon Dunes Golf Course; 9:50am – 1:00pm starting times
• Hosted awards ceremony following the conclusion of play
Flight champions will receive crystal and gift certificates to the Bandon Dunes Pro Shop
Individual and Senior Series Runner-ups will receive crystal.
Due to the generosity of Bandon Dunes Golf Resort and the success of our regular season events, the OGA is able to provide an incredible value to invitees at the season ending event for just $309!
