The Road to the PGA Championship - Heading to Atlanta
More information on the 44th PGA Professional Championship
As Scott heads to Atlanta Athletic Club he, and caddie Mike McKennon will be sending regular blog reports. Here is the first.
Our road to The PGA started with a 3:30AM wake-up call today! It is amazing how sleep and time are of no concern as Scott and I get ready for what will undoubtably be the experience of a lifetime.
The pairings were announced and we are on the first tee Thursday at 12:45 and the 10th tee on Friday at 7:35am. We will be starting right as Tiger, Davis Love and Harrington are finishing. We are two groups in front of Ernie Els and Sergio Garcia. Should make for some good crowds. We are staying with friends just a mile from the front gate at AAC.
Plane lands at 2:15PM EST today (Saturday). We will head right to our house and try to come to terms with 95 and humid as the norm this week! We will play a full 18 holes tomorrow and then decide where we need to focus attention for the remaining practice rounds. The practice rounds themselves with be experiences themselves spending one day with Ernie Els and one of his "buddies", another with Ryuji Imada and yet another with DL3 and Lucas Glover.
Big thanks to the good people at Nike Golf who have been incredible as well as the entire membership at Oswego Lake Country Club.
When we get some pictures downloaded I will send a link to our on-line photo gallery so you can see Scott and get some perspective on what the course and experience are like. You can tweet questions to @mckennongolfbags, or at McKennon Golf Bags on Facebook and I will try to answer as many as I can.
Looking forward to sharing the experience with everyone!
Mike and Scott
