Tyler Morse Hired as Director of Youth Programming and Development
WOODBURN, ORE. – Tyler Morse has been named Director of Youth Programming and Development, announced Thursday by Oregon Golf Association CEO Barb Trammell.
Morse joins the OGA from the OGA Golf Course, where he is currently serving as Assistant PGA Golf Professional. He will begin his new role on Monday, March 26th.
“The creation of this new position serves to further illustrate the OGA’s commitment to growing programs that are geared towards the non-competitive component of Oregon Junior Golf,” said Trammell. “Having someone to focus solely on these initiatives will enhance our ability to provide additional opportunities for youth across our region and we are thrilled to have Tyler assume this role.”
A graduate of the University of Oregon, Morse began his golf career in 2012 as a P.J. Boatwright Intern with the OGA and Oregon Junior Golf. Along with his recent role at the OGA Golf Course, Morse has worked as a golf professional at Wykagyl Country Club in New Rochelle, N.Y.; Chelsea Piers Golf Club in New York, N.Y. and at Wigwam Golf Resort in Litchfield, Ariz.
“I’m excited to begin my role back at the organization that launched my career,” said Morse. “There is a tremendous staff in place at the OGA and I’m eager to carve out my role in the Oregon golf community.”
In his new role, Morse will focus on the Jacobsen Youth Initiative, fundraising efforts for OJG and program initiatives geared toward developmental areas of Oregon Junior Golf. Morse will also continue to oversee junior initiatives at the OGA Golf Course, and will manage the OGA’s non-competitive junior golf series, the Erling Jacobsen Tour.
