Help Support Youth on Course in Oregon & Southwest Washington With 100 Hole Hike
In September and October 2020, golf lovers will take the formidable challenge to play 100 holes of golf in one day to raise money and awareness for Youth on Course. Now in its 14th year, Youth on Course is expanding nationally and currently operates in 38 states/provinces in two countries, serves over 95,000 youth members, and provides access to affordable golf at 1,400+ facilities in North America.
Team Oregon will host its 2020 100 Hole Hike on Monday, Sept. 28 at The Children's Course in Portland.
To support Youth on Course, you can pledge any amount towards any golfer below for each hole of golf they play. For example, if you pledge $1 per hole and the golfer completes 100 holes, that’s $100 towards Youth on Course. Golfers will be playing from sunup to sundown, walking 20+ miles, and taking hundreds of swings. It will be a fun, but challenging day and your backing will help keep participants going!
One of Youth on Course's first partners to come on board in 2014, Oregon Junior Golf has steadily increased participation over the years. For each YOC round played in Oregon and Southwest Washington, Oregon Junior Golf and the Oregon Golf Association provide a $5 subsity to participating facilities to offset the cost of the round. In 2019 alone, the OGA and OJG provide more than $70,000 in subsidies to area golf courses for rounds played by Oregon Junior Golfers.
Additionally, OJG was named one of 11 AGA partners to achieve "Gold" status with the program because of 2019 local YOC participation in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
Youth on Course is a national program that provides youth with access to life-changing opportunities through golf. YOC members gain access to golf for $5 or less at more than 1,200 participating courses. All Oregon Junior Golf members are automatically enrolled into the Youth on Course program.
