Ly, Moody Earn Back-to-Back Player of the Year Honors

Kyra Ly and Graham Moody were named Oregon Junior Golf Players of the Year for their outstanding performances during the 2020 campaign. Both Ly and Moody also won the award in 2019.

Ly, from Portland, continued her remarkable play this year, which included major tournament wins at the Bob Norquist Oregon Junior Amateur and Central Willamette Valley Junior.

Additionally, Ly registered a pair of second-place finishes in 2020 majors, at the Central Oregon Junior and Portland City / Bob Allard Memorial.

Ly, who maintains a +4.2 Handicap Index, also registered a pair of victories in the OJG Summer Series, at the Glendoveer Junior and Heron Lakes Junior.

Moody, from Vancouver, earned the top recognition on the boys side following a campaign that included excellent play in both junior major tournaments and adult OGA Championships. His signature victory came at the Bob Norquist Oregon Junior Amateur, an event he won in 2019 as well.

Moody, who played in four OJG Major Tournaments this season, also posted a runner-up finish at the Central Willamette Valley Junior, a third-place finish at the Portland City / Bob Allard Memorial, while placing fifth at the Central Oregon Junior.

Moody and his +3.3 Handicap Index took on the field at 68th Oregon Men’s Stroke Play Championship, which features the top adult OGA Championships competitors. The high school senior finished that event in second place, posting a 1-over par (68-70-73) result for the 54-hole competition.
