Four duos qualified for 2020 men’s and women’s national championship four-ball competitions in USGA qualifiers played Monday, Oct. 14 at Willamette Valley Country Club in Canby. Two spots in the national championships were up for grabs in each qualifier. The 2019 Women’s Interclub Play season came to a close as the Championship took place on Thursday, October 10th at the OGA Golf Course in Woodburn, Ore. The season saw 13 Clubs from Vancouver, Wash. to Salem, Ore. compete in two divisions. At the end of the regular season, two Overall Division Champions were crowned, Eastmoreland Golf Club and Forest Hills Golf Club. The Overall Championship Match was very competitive and was won by Forest Hills Golf Club who earned 55 points, beating Eastmoreland by 2 points who finished with 53 points. Kyra Ly and Graham Moody were named Oregon Junior Golf Players of the Year for their outstanding performances during the 2019 campaign. Ly, from Portland, played fantastic golf throughout the year, including wins in the Girls Open Division at the 22nd Oregon Junior Stroke Play, Central Willamette Valley Junior and Klamath Basin Junior major tournaments. Oregon Junior Golf conducted its first-ever Hundred Hole Hike on Oct. 4, 2019 at The Reserve Vineyards & Golf Club in Aloha. The event, which is a fundraiser for the local Youth on Course program, included eight area golfers who secured per-hole donations and completed 100 holes in a single day. Thanks to the generosity of 272 individual donors, the 2019 Hundred Hole Hike raised $40,302 for the program in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
