OGA Junior Golf Major Tournament Season Begins at Centennial

The major tournament season for OGA Junior Golf begins June 5-6 with the Centennial Junior Championship played at Centennial Golf Club in Medford. More than 100 junior golfers from throughout the region are set for the 36-hole event.

Centennial Junior (June 5-6):

This is a stroke play gross competition for all 18-hole divisions and 18-hole stroke play competition for all 9-hole divisions. In the event of a tie for first place in a division, a hole-by-hole playoff will be used to determine the champion. If more than two players are tied, the playoff will only be used to determine the champion. All remaining places will be determined by the USGA Score card playoff.

The OPEN Divisions are open to 12 –18 year old girls and 14–18 year old boys. Though all players in this age range are eligible, the division is intended only for more skilled and experienced players. It is recommended the Boys be able to consistently break 80 and the Girls be able to consistently break 85 on a regulation course.

Following the Centenial Junior event, the OGA Junior schedule continues on June 15-16 at the Peter Jacobsen Junior Challenge held at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis.
