OGA Members Advance to Round of 32 at U.S. Women's Am

A pair of OGA Members – Ellie Slama and Kennedy Swan – have made it to the Round of 32 at the 120th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship.

U.S. Women's Am:

Slama, who entered match play as the No. 29 seed, won today’s match 3&1 over Aneka Seumanutafa in the Round of 64. Slama, from Salem, opened with a hot start by winning five of the first nine holes.

She advances to face No. 4 seed Phoebe Brinker, from Wilmington, Del., in Friday’s Round of 32. That match is set to begin at 4:40am (PT). Brinker won her opening round match over Auston Kim, 2&1.

Swann, an OGA Member through Tokatee Golf Club, won 2&1 in her opening match over No. 42 Aline Krauter. Swann also started strong, taking a 3up advantage at the turn before closing the match on Hole No. 17.

Swann, the No. 23 seed, moves on to face Bohyun Park from the Republic of Korea. Park, the No. 55 seed, staged an opening-round upset with a 4&2 win over No. 10 seed Mychael O’Berry.

The Swann-Park match is scheduled for Friday at 5:50am (PT).
