Super Senior, Women’s Stroke Play Concludes at Salishan Golf Links

Victoria Gailey and Anita Rosemeyer won their respective divisions at the 31st Oregon Women’s Stroke Play Championship played July 27-29 at Salishan Golf Links in Gleneden Beach.

Oregon Women's Stroke Play & Super Senior (July 27-29):

Gailey, coming off a victory at last week’s Oregon Public Links Championship, won the women’s gross division by three strokes. She posted an opening round 74, a second-round 73 before carding an event-best 1-under par 70 in Thursday’s final round.

Amanda Jacobs (76-72-72) finished second, while Kyra Ly (73-72-76) took third in the women’s gross division.

In the senior women’s gross division it was Anita Rosemeyer (78-75-73) who dominated with a 13-stroke victory. She had a division-best seven birdies, five of which she dropped in during the second round.

Salishan also played host to the 16th Oregon Super Senior Championship July 28-29, featuring golfers ages 65 or older. Penny Gibson and Alan Richardson took home titles in that 36-hole competition.

Gibbons (83-82) won the women’s gross division a 25-over par as part of the Patty Berg Flight, closing the event strong with a birdie on No. 18.

Richardson (73-77) won by two strokes in the Byron Nelson Flight for the men's gross division.

The OGA Championships schedule continues Aug. 6-8 at Emerald Valley Golf Club with the 69th playing of the Oregon Men’s Stroke Play Championship. Entries for that competition were open to male amateur golfers with Handicap Indexes of 5.0 or less, and seniors with Handicap Indexes of 10.0 or less
