Swann, Slama Advance to Match Play at 2020 U.S. Women's Am

Kennedy Swan and Ellie Slama both advanced to match play at the 120th U.S. Women’s Amateur. The competition is being played Aug. 3-9 at the par 72, 6,553-yard Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Md.

U.S. Women's Am:

Play began on Monday but was delayed by inclement weather. Tuesday’s second round of stroke play qualifying was pushed back to Wednesday.

Swann, from Austin, Texas, posted a 1-under par 71 on Wednesday vaulting her into a tie for 18th through two days of stroke play qualifying. After opening the event with a 3-over par 75 on Monday, she responded with five birdies in Wednesday's round. Swan is an OGA Member by way of Tokatee Golf Club in McKenzie Bridge, Ore.

Slama, from Salem, finished stroke play tied for 26th at 3-over par. She posted a 1-over par 73 on Monday, a round that included two birdies offset by three bogeys. In Wednesday’s second round of qualifying, Slama carded a 2-over 74 – with two birdies and four bogeys.

Slama is an OGA Member through the OGA’s U-30 member club.
