U.S. Open Local Qualifier Set for May 13 at Waverley

PORTLAND – The Oregon Golf Association will administer a 2019 U.S. Open local qualifier Monday, May 13 at Waverley Country Club in Portland. There are 125 entrants at this qualifying site with 64 amateurs and 61 professionals competing for seven (7) spots to advance into the sectional stage of qualifying.

The competitors are from nine different states:  Oregon (71), Washington (35), California (5), Arizona and Idaho (2), Nevada, Virginia, West Virginia and Wyoming (1). There are also six Canadian players in the field attempting to qualify.

In the event of a tie for the last qualifying spot or any alternate positions, a sudden-death playoff will commence immediately following the return and verification of all scores.

The course will play a length of 6,634 yards with a USGA Course and Slope Rating of 72.8 / 134 (as rated by the Oregon Golf Association).

Live scoring will be available at OGA.org during the event.

This year’s championship proper will be held June 13-16 at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
